A new waterfront brewery is coming to Bellingham
Beach Cat Brewing currently operates a brewery and taproom on the shores of Birch Bay in Blaine, Washington. We’ve just learned that the company is opening a new location 20 miles south in Bellingham. “Rumors have been going around, and it’s time to put the rumors to rest; we are staying firmly in Birch Bay for the foreseeable future,” Beach Cat Brewing said. “In addition to that, codenamed Southpaw, we are ecstatic to reveal that we are indeed opening up a second location in downtown Bellingham.”
The new Beach Cat brewery and taproom is opening on the waterfront in Bellingham, not far from Structures Brewing. The building has a huge dock overlooking Bellingham Bay. Beach Cat Brewing says it hopes to open as soon as April but recognizes that it may take until the early summer. As part of Bellingham’s revitalized, reinvented waterfront, Beach Cat Brewing will have some beery neighbors. As mentioned, Structures Brewing is a block away, but Ponderosa Beer and Books is also nearby, which means Kulshan Brewing’s Trackside Beer Garden is also within easy walking distance.
“It will be a brewery with a taproom, we will have plenty of dockside seating on Bellingham’s waterfront,” Beach Cat Brewing told the Washington Beer Blog. “We will be all-ages and pet-friendly. Birch Bay will remain open as a flagship location and we’ll continue to produce beer there on a smaller scale so we can do fun, interesting beers without having to make a huge batch. We were looking in Blaine for a spot as we love our community out here but the location we were looking at didn’t work out in the end… The new spot in Bellingham checks all the boxes and then some! The location is stellar and there will be plenty of parking available.”
When they’re ready to announce an opening date, you’ll read about it here on the Washington Beer Blog.
Coming soon…
