Bale Breaker Brewing makes a lot of different beers, but most people think of it as an IPA-focused brewery. It’s not entirely fair, but it’s understandable for a brewery built on a hop farm. The brewery announced today that it is about to release a new year-round offering: Duskbound Hazy IPA. The beer completes a trio of IPAs that comprise Daybreak IPA, Skyward IPA, and now Duskbount IPA.
Duskbound is described as an updated version of one of the brewery’s previous hazy IPA recipes. It’s built on experience and lessons learned from five years of brewing Hazy L IPA. Duskbound IPA’s hop bill includes Citra, HBC 630, HBC 1019, and Citra HyperBoost. That last one is an innovative hop product intended to amplify hop aromatics.
Brewers, HyperBoost™ is the latest innovation from the Research and Development Program at Yakima Chief Hops. It is designed to easily pour in the fermenter as a cold-side addition. Available for several different hop varieties, HyperBoost boosts hop aroma and increases final beer yield. Currently available for Citra, Krush, Mosaic, Simcoe, and more.
Duskbound Hazy IPA, Bale Breaker Brewing Company’s newest year-round 12oz offering, will be releasing on February 13, 2025.
Yakima, Wash. – February 3, 2025 – Bale Breaker Brewing Company, a family-owned brewery located in the beautiful Yakima Valley, is excited to announce the newest 12oz can in their year-round lineup: Duskbound Hazy IPA.
Two years ago, Bale Breaker released Daybreak Pale Ale as the first in a new line of innovative, modern beers. Daybreak Pale was followed by Skyward IPA, and later this month, this trio of updated releases is complete as Duskbound Hazy IPA joins the pack. This trio focuses on what Bale Breaker does best: all three beers are clean, crisp, and hop-forward, and capture a variety of styles enjoyed by PNW craft beer drinkers. Daybreak Pale Ale, Skyward West Coast IPA, and Duskbound Hazy IPA all feature can artwork that mimics the movement of the sun throughout the day on Bale Breaker’s family hop farm. These beers are the perfect treat for any time of day – reminding the drinker that great flavor makes for great days.
“We’ve brewed hundreds of hazies in our 12 years of operation,” says Bale Breaker co-owner and brewmaster, Kevin “Smitty” Smith. “We’ve learned a lot about brewing this style since we released our first year-round hazy IPA, Hazy L, five years ago.”
Duskbound is an updated take on the Hazy L recipe, which will be rolled back as Duskbound rolls out into the market. Featuring Citra®, Citra® HyperBoost™, HBC 630, and HBC 1019, with all of the hops grown on Bale Breaker’s 4th generation family hop farm, this hazy has a great summery punch of tropical fruit, peach, and melon.
“We think we’ve landed as close as possible to the perfect hazy with Duskbound,” says Smitty. “We took a lot of the things we liked about Hazy L, but amped up the hop profile with a new hop product from YCH, Citra® HyperBoost™, and an exciting new experimental hop that we’re loving, HBC 1019.”
