ART Restaurant recently decided it wanted a signature beer. Located at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Seattle, at the corner of First and Union, ART prides itself on offering a true market-to-table experience, taking advantage of the fact that the Pike Place Market is right next door. A signature beer, brewed by a small, local brewery fits right into the ART philosophy. That’s why they teamed up with NW Peaks Brewing to create Never Trust a Skinny Chef Ale.
“There are so many great micro-breweries in our backyard. We wanted to have a beer that is distinctly Seattle and would go well with our market-to-ART cuisine and 55 Locals spirits program,” says ART Restaurant Executive Chef Kerry Sear.
Described as “a beer for connoisseurs and non-beer drinkers alike,” Never Trust a Skinny Chef Ale pairs well with many dishes on the menu, from the eggs Benedict for breakfast to the fish and chips for lunch and miso cod and scallops for dinner.
Chef Jelle Vandenbroucke, ART’s restaurant chef, will introduce the beer and other NW Peaks brews in seasonal dishes such as mixed green salad with toasted hazelnuts, grapefruit slices and Redoubt Red Ale vinaigrette; and Magic Brown Ale pork & beans garnished with glazed Sriracha chili bacon. And to top it all off, order Pastry Chef Tara Sedor’s Stuart Stout bittersweet crème brûlée over Stout devil’s food cake or Skinny Chef Ale ice cream. Order through end of summer in the restaurant or take pints of the ice cream to go.
ART Restaurant will be partnering with local breweries for tastings, special dinners and other events in 2014. To keep up-to-date on these events and more, follow ART Restaurant on Facebook or Twitter.
