I love breweries that have attitude. Some of the best breweries (Black Raven, Elysian, Lagunitas, Brew Dogs, etc) have personality that manifests itself in the character of the beers. Fun, daring, raucous, ass-kickin’, and a little bit dangerous, that’s how I describe Triplehorn Brewing’s attitude and its beers. Yes, I did just put them in some damn fine company, as a matter of fact.
This Saturday, August 23 in Woodinville, Triplehorn Brewing celebrates its second anniversary with a big party: Hordefest 2014. The event at the brewery will include some special treats that they’ve been hording away in barrels for a while, but that aint all. Last year’s party saw about 1,500 people enjoy the celebration. This year, the party will include seven bands, three food trucks, a cigar tent, and a whole bunch of special beers (listed below).
In two short years Triplehorn Brewing has accomplished a lot. Not only has it become one of Woodinville’s beloved beer stops, but it has undergone significant expansion. The barbarian attitude behind Triplehorn rocks. I mean that quite literally. Not only is Triplehorn a great beer destination, but it is one of Woodinville’s best spots for live music. (Maybe the city’s best spot for live music.)
When Triplehorn Brewing opened back in 2012, they explained the philosophy behind the brewery: “We care, we live, and we share the spoils of our desires. When we are successful, our friends are among us to reap the benefit. As we grow, we want to grow prudently, with honor.”
