Airways Brewing in Kent, Washington is closing entirely. The company, which has been in operation for nearly 15 years, made the announcement today via its social media channels. The closing will leave a whole in the hearts of many of the brewery’s fans as well as the community in general, a community in which Airways Brewing operated two locations and played a valuable role.

“Everything in life has a beginning and end,” said today’s announcement. “After 14.5 years, the time has come for us to move on. Our last day of operations at The Tap Room & Brewery will be Wednesday, November 27th – the day before Thanksgiving. We’ll have a couple of special event nights before then that we’ll let you know about over the next week.”

The unfortunate news comes on the heels of last month’s closing of the Airways Brewing Bistro & Beer Garden, the company’s second location. That closing, like this closing, is attributable to many reasons, some particular to Airways Brewing and others more widespread in the craft brewing industry. “I know many of you will be asking why: A lot of it comes down to rising costs, people drinking less (or something besides beer), etc.- something we also hear from talking with a lot of our brewery owner friends around the area. The future for many breweries and tap rooms is cloudy right now, so please support the places you enjoy going as much as you can.”

“We have truly appreciated you and the support you’ve given us throughout the years. Not seeing you on a regular basis will be the hardest part of saying goodbye. So, we invite you to come join us one or several times before the 27th.”
