Join 7 Seas Brewing on Wednesday, January 15th, for an uncommon underwater experience

Have you visited “the new” 7 Seas Brewing taproom in Gig Harbor? I use the quotes because the taproom has been open for a while, but many people might confuse it with one of the previous Gig Harbor taprooms or even the taproom at the brewery in Tacoma. Anyway, it is spectacular. Beautiful, harborside, on the water, and it even has a glorious view of Mount Rainier when the weather agrees. But at this event, you won’t look at the mountain and you won’t look at the water. You’ll look underwater.

“Enjoy a beer while having an underwater journey of Gig Harbor Bay without getting wet (or needing special certification) through the Pier Into the Night experience,” said the announcement on social media. “While you stay warm and dry on the dock, our divers use an underwater video camera to live stream exactly what they encounter below the surface.”

“Staff biologists and trained volunteers identify the plants and animals that appear on a ten-foot screen. Animals we have encountered at past events include feather-duster tube worms; sculpin and gunnels, red rock, kelp and graceful crabs; stubby squid; Giant Pacific Octopus, and much more!”

And fear not! If you observe Dry January, they’ll have non-alcoholic options for you. I am particulary fond of the Apex, which is the sparkling CBD beverage the 7 Seas Brewing produces. It is flavored with a bit of fruit juice, has very low carbs, very few calories, and is totally delicious.
