In The Shadow Brewing is a brewery located in Arlington, Washington. It is a small, family-run operation. Currently, one of the family members is fighting cancer. This Thursday, October 14th, Marysville’s 5 Rights Brewing is hosting an event in support of its fellow brewing community member.
You are invited to 5 Rights Brewing to help them support Sarah in her battle against colon cancer. The event kicks off at 6:00. In addition to a silent auction, the event will feature a number of special beers from other local breweries, like Good Brewing, Crucible, Scuttlebutt, Skookum, SnoTown, Sound to Summit, Wandering Hop, and Whitewall.
Here is more info about the event from 5 Rights’ Instagram page:
One of the most incredible things about our 5 Rights family is seeing how people selflessly step up to help those around them. It has been a humbling journey to see how generous our community is and we are so thankful to be a part of something much greater than just a brewery and gathering place. Whenever we have chosen someone or something to rally around our 5 Rights family has blown us away by far exceeding any expectations we may have had.
We have another chance to truly bless someone in our community this coming Thursday, October 14th. Recently we found out some really tough news in that our great friend Sarah from @itsbrewing in Arlington had been diagnosed with colon cancer and would need to undergo chemotherapy, radiation treatments and ultimately surgery. We have an extra special connection with Cole and Sarah from In the Shadow as Sarah and Kristi were both working as nurses together several years ago, before either of our breweries had become a reality. We have forged a great friendship and we are thankful to be able to rally our local brewing community to find a way to help them out with their medical expenses during this journey. So here’s what we’re doing.
We are hosting a silent auction benefit event this Thursday with lots of amazing items in the catalog including some one-of-a-kind experiential items from some of your favorite local breweries including the following:
We brewed a special hazy pale for Sarah that we will tap on Thursday and we will be donating all of the proceeds from the entire batch. We will also be collecting cash/check and gift card donations that will go directly to their family. We also ask that all auction items be paid for with cash or check so that we can avoid credit card processing fees and maximize our donations.
@smokin_doughpizza will be onsite from 4-8PM making some delicious pies to go with your beer and fellowship. So make your plans to come on down for dinner, beers and most importantly, showing Sarah how much she is loved.
