Last night the winners were announced. Each year, Specialty Competitions LLC conducts the Washington Beer Awards® Fresh Hop Competition. In all, 45 Washington breweries submitted 122 fresh hop beers for evaluation. All of the beers were brewed and commercially available in the state of Washington, and utilized fresh hops. The entries were evaluated in a blind format using the Brewers Association Style Guidelines by panels of trained beer judges who awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze placements for each category grouping.
