Individuals and breweries are encouraged to help with this effort
Wildfires. By now, I hope everyone knows. The news coming out of Eastern Washington, and especially the Spokane area, is devastating. Breweries on the west side of the Mountains, around Seattle, are encouraged to get involved in this immediate relief effort. AND individuals are encouraged to donate as well: essential supplies or cash, whichever is appropriate, possible, and can be done quickly.
The need is immediate, and so is this effort. This has to happen right now. It is being spearheaded by folks at Stoup Brewing and Holy Mountain Brewing. Some folks from the westside brewing community are headed east to Spokane later this week for the Grainmaker Festival, and they will bring the donated items with them, so this needs to happen NOW. Breweries are encouraged to donate and collect the necessary items.
One of Stoup Brewing’s owners, Robyn Schumacher, has strong ties to the Spokane area. She says, “Please let brewery folks know to email me at robyn @ stoupbrewing.com just so we know to expect a drop off from their breweries by Thursday, 9:00 AM, and if they want the poster to share.”
Everyone, anyone, is encouraged to drop off any of the goods listed at participating breweries. We will update this post as more local breweries and businesses get involved. Beyond this brewery-led initiative, you can donate to the relief efforts here.

“This is a short timeline, but I hope it gains traction,” said Robyn. “I was just talking with another friend from my old neighborhood who lost his home in one neighborhood and his mom’s home in another. That makes more than five people I know personally who have lost homes. It’s gutting.”
