Beer, Soccer, and Coffee. Passions Collide at Reuben’s Brews
Are you bonkers for soccer? Adam Robbings, one of the founders of Reuben’s Brews, can relate. This Friday, the brewery is hosting a watch party for the World Cup draw. “We’ve been brewing collab beers since 2014 for soccer,” said Robbings. “On Friday, at our Ballard taproom, we’re having a celebration and watch party for the World Cup.”
The World Cup draw takes place on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. You are invited to watch it at Reuben’s Brews with like-minded soccer fans. The ceremony determines and announces the group-stage matchups for the 48-team tournament. For those living under rocks or in caves, the United States, Canada, and Mexico are hosting the upcoming 2026 World Cup, with Seattle slated to host some matches.
Soccer, Coffee, and Beer
Reuben’s Brews first outwardly displayed its undying allegiance to “the beautiful game” in 2014 when it brewed a beer to honor Adam Robbing’s favorite English Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur (as reported here). Pictured above, Tottenham Hotspur legend Ledley King greets a crowd at Reuben’s Brews in 2014. Eventually, in 2022, Reuben’s Brews partnered with Ballard’s newly formed semi-pro soccer club, introducing a beer called Up The Bridges.
Beyond being a soccer (football) fanatic, Robbings is a coffee enthusiast. Friday’s event also serves as the introduction of Reuben’s Brews coffee program, Chipper Coffee. “There’s no set program/schedule to have it available all the time, but we’ll be pouring it on Friday,” says Robbings. “I’m going to get roasting this week for it!”
