Washington’s top fresh hop beers announced tonight at Growler Guys

Tonight (Thrsd. Oct. 19) at The Growler Guys in Seattle they will announce the winners of the annual Washington Beer Awards fresh hop beer competition. The annual Washington Beer Awards (WABA) are serious business. Judging is conducted by a panel of experts and certified beer judges. Beers must be brewed by Washington breweries, as the name implies.

While the rest of the WABA winners, in all of the other categories, will be announced in a couple weeks, tonight is all about the freshies. We will learn which beers and breweries won the various Fresh Hop categories.

The Growler Guys invites you to join them for an evening of great beer and big announcements. They will have 30 fresh hop beers on tap, including many that were entered in the competition. Along with that, general hobnobbing with folks from the beer industry. The event officially starts at 5:00 with the first awards presented at 6:15. In addition to all the rest, they’ll have TVs tuned to the NFL football game and the MLB playoffs. You can view the current taplist online.
