Join the Brewshed® Alliance as it honors one of its own on Thursday, October 3rd
The Washington Brewshed® Alliance is a beer-focused program within Washington Wild, an organization that works to protect wild lands and rivers in Washington State. The breweries, bars, and other beer industry partners that make up the Washington Brewshed Alliance work collectively to advance a shared interest in protecting our waterways because the relationship between healthy water sources and great beer is inextricable.
Brewshed® Alliance members support the mission by creating beers to benefit Washington Wild, either individually or collaboratively. A recent collaboration project, Forestalgia American Lager, involved about 100 Brewshed partners. Bellingham-based Aslan Brewing spearheaded the project. Washington Wild honors Aslan Brewing at the upcoming Wild Night Out celebration in Seattle on October 3rd. Washington Wild invites you to attend, learn more, enjoy some beers, and support the Washington Wild mission.
Washington Wild recently announced the winner of the 2024 Brewshed® Alliance Award: Aslan Brewing Company. Among the original Brewshed Alliance members, having joined in 2014, Aslan Brewing has steadfastly supported Washington Wild and helped advance a variety of conservation issues. They have signed public comment letters, hosted DamNation viewing parties at their taproom, and raised funds for Washington Wild through charity beers.
Forestalgia American Lager, a WA Brewshed® collab beer, brought together 100 breweries, taprooms, bottle shops, and hop growers to celebrate our local craft beer industry’s dedication to protecting watershed health from peak to pint. Forestalgia is both a state of mind and a commitment. It’s an individual’s yearning for an idealized, sustainable future and dedication to protecting Washington State’s forests and rivers for the future of people, the planet, and great beer.
Away from its involvement with Washington Wild, Aslan is a leader in sustainability. It is a Certified B Corporation and it brews USDA Certified Organic beers. Aslan captures rainwater from their roof as a Bellingham Rain Garden Steward. A lot of the water used in the brewing process does not go into the beer, so this kind of conservation effort is commendable. Aslan also strives to source local ingredients across its food menu, utilizes Salmon-Safe ingredients when possible, and works to offset its carbon footprint.
Congratulations to Aslan Brewing. And, thank you!
