Westies With Our Besties Returns for 2025

On May 23rd, breweries across Washington will release the 2025 Washington Brewers Guild annual collaboration beer. Over 50 member breweries recently assembled at seven locations to create their regional versions of a West Coast IPA: Westies With Our Besties IPA. Washington’s beer lovers will find the beers at the participating breweries. To support the mission, find and drink the beer. Enjoy a pint at one of the breweries’ taprooms or grab some cans to take home.

It’s seven different beers—all the same, but each unique. Like the beers themselves, the label artwork for each version will vary slightly—variations on a theme, as it were. The collaboration project is a friendly competition, with each of the seven regional versions competing for the title of best collaboration beer. Last year, the Central Washington version, brewed at Icicle Brewing, earned top honors.

All of the beers benefit the Washington Brewers Guild, a non-profit trade organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the interests of the state’s craft brewers while strengthening the Washington craft brewing community. The involvement of a long list of supporting partners enables the Washington Brewers Guild to benefit from the project. Those partners provide the ingredients and product support needed to create a successful project. The goal of the Guild is to protect, support, and unite Washington craft brewers through legislative advocacy, education, and brewer community building.
