Today we share news of the return of two crowd favorites at Georgetown Brewing. Also, the brewery is now offering brewery tours again, so you get behind the scenes at the birthplace of Bodhi and so many other great beers.

Basket Case

Basket Case Dark Lager returns to Georgetown Brewing for the fifth year. The brainchild of Preston, one of the brewers at Georgetown, the beer benefits Skyway Coalition. This year, the brewery created a barrel-aged version of the beer. Get it on tap at the brewery, which is where you can also pick up the barrel-aged version in 22-ounce bottles.

The beer is named after a longtime Skyway institution: Basket Case Drive-In Burgers. Skyway is an unincorporated part of King County that lies between Seattle and Renton. It’s also Preston’s hometown. Skyway Coalition is a nonprofit that works to address the historic disinvestment and unfair policies that have impacted the Black, Indigenous, and people of color in the Skyway community.

The Sun Is Trying to Kill Me!

Lisa is an important, longtime member of the team at Georgetown Brewing. Several years ago Lisa conceptualized a beverage that involved two of her favorite things: beer and chocolate. She named thge beer Lisa’s The Sun is Trying to Kill Me Chocolate Stout, but apparently Lisa has made her piece with Old Sol.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, join Lisa at the Georgetown Brewing taproom in Seattle on Thursday, February 13th from 3:30 to 5:30 for the early release of Lisa’s Chocolate Stout. All proceeds from pint sales of the beer sold on that day will benefit Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center at Seattle Children’s Hospital, which offers lifelong learning for people 18 and older with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities.

Roll Up For the Mystery Tour

Almost everyone around the Northwest is familiar with Georgetown Brewing’s beers, but what happens behind the curtain is a mystery. The brewery just announced that it is once again offering public tours, offering a peek at how the magic happens. The tours take place at 3:00 on Saturday afternoons. The tour group size is limited to just ten people, so it is highly recommended you contact the brewery to make reservations (206-766-8055). The $10 per person fee includes a pint of beer at the tour’s conclusion. All proceeds from the tours are donated to charity.
