Tumwater's big beer festival returns on Saturday, August 19th

Beer, food, music, games, and lots of fun. It’s brewfest time!

The Tumwater Artesian Brewfest takes place in the shadow of the historic Olympia Brewery on Saturday, August 19th. It’s a big, fun festival with lots of activities to accompany lots of beer choices. The venue is a golf course. More precisely, the event takes place on the driving range, so there’s plenty of room — 10 acres! The City of Tumwater and the Tumwater Downtown Association host the annual event.

Currently, the list of participants includes 30 breweries, cider makers, and distilleries (mostly breweries). Event organizers say that, in all, about 100 different beverages will be available. The roster includes some familiar South Sound breweries, but also some others from farther afield.

The event allows beer lovers to sample beers from breweries that they might not otherwise encounter locally. Breweries like Wild Ride Brew Co. from Redmond, Oregon; Ancestry Brewing from Tualatin, Oregon; North Jetty Brewing from Seaview, Washington; and Everybody’s Brewing from White Salmon, Washington. And a lot more. See the current list of participants below.

Petty Fever, a Portland-based tribute band, will provide the musical entertainment, playing songs from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ massive catalog of hits. Local food trucks will provide the victuals. Food trucks like Olympita (gyros and falafel) and Langostino Sushi Burrito.
