Tis the season for seasonal celebrations at Reuben’s Brews

Advent calendar beer box, Three Ryes Men, and get ready to hit the slopes

You can’t let the gloom of the coming season get you down. You’ve got to learn to embrace the cool darkness of winter in the Northwest. Reuben’s Brews is looking forward to helping you cope with your SAD. The brewery has three things things to share with you.

Advent Calendar – First up, the always popular Reuben’s Brews Advent Calendar returns for 2023. It’s a box of beer, cleverly designed to provide you with a different beer each day for the 24 days leading up to Christmas. Every day, a new surprise. Online sales for the 2023 calendar start at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13th. The beer boxes sell quickly, so you should either order online or make a point of getting down to the Reuben’s Brews taproom soon. The main taproom in Ballard or the new one in Fremont.

Three Ryes Men – According to the Gospel of Mathew, three wise men traveled from the east to visit Jesus upon his birth, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Thankfully, none of those things are part of the recipe for this always captivating beer, but it is the season for the annual release of this year’s version(s) of award-winning barleywine from Reuben’s Brews.

Craft Beer & Brewing described Three Ryes Men as “deeply engaging and endlessly captivating.” I describe it as arm-tinglingly good. Goosebump-inducing. It’s complex but easy. It is a stream-of-consciousness beer: don’t try to analyze it, just let it fill your mind with whatever beautiful thought pops up.

Saturday, November 18th, Reuben’s Brews releases the 2023 vintage at both of its taprooms–Ballard and Fremont. Also, keep an eye on social media for the release of the Three Ryes Men variants.

Seasonal Tune-Up – Once again Reuben’s is teaming up with EDGE Outdoors for the 2023-2024 ski season. To kick things off, the brewery will host a food drive and waxing night in Ballard on Friday, November 17th. In exchange for donating non-perishable food to the Ballard Food Bank, you’ll receive a complimentary waxing for your board or skis by ProSki Seattle.
