The Yakima Valley produces about 75 percent of the nation’s hop crop each year. The region deserves the proper noun Hop Country. Farming and processing hops is a way of life that for many families spans multiple generations. They don’t just grow ’em, they love ’em, and people in the Yakima Valley are proud of their role in the craft beer industry.
In recent years, more and more breweries have opened in Hop Country. Also, more events celebrating hops and beer have popped up across the valley from Yakima to Prosser. Below I share a list of beer-related events happening this spring and summer in Hop Country. For information about the area, lodging, and more, check out the Visit Yakima website.
Note that the premier beer event in Hop Country is the annual Fresh Hop Ale Festival in October. If you are interested in that one, and you should be, get busy. It is a very popular event. See below.
