The Beer Junction Celebrates its 16th Birthday on Friday, June 26th

The label for an anniversary beer

West Seattle’s Beloved Bottleshop and Beer Bar Marks Another Milestone

The Beer Junction has an important role in the life of the Washington Beer Blog. Back when I was just getting this forum started, Morgan Herzog, then owner of a very new bottleshop called The Beer Junction, approached me and said something like, “Have you ever thought about offering sponsorships or ads?”

I had thought about that, but I was not sure what that would look like or what the rate would be. Morgan and I discussed it, and he helped me figure things out. The Beer Junction has been a sponsor of the Washington Beer Blog ever since. That means a lot to me. We kind of built this thing together.

Morgan Herzog set up shop at The Beer Junction’s original location in 2010.

So, yeah, me and The Beer Junction, we’ve got history. Sadly, we lost Morgan in February of 2020, but under new ownership, The Beer Junction is going strong, better than ever. West Seattle would not be the same without it, and it is now impossible to imagine how the community ever got along without it.

The Beer Junction invites you to join them this Friday, June 26th, as they commemorate another anniversary. And they’ve got an anniversary beer to introduce as well, brewed by their friends at Ravenna Brewing. Here’s the announcement.

Join us this Friday, June 26th to celebrate The Beer Junction finally being allowed to drive!

To help us celebrate we’ll have our new anniversary beer on tap and in cans. Our buds at Ravenna Brewing were kind enough to put together a beautiful West Coast IPA, 16:03 to Yakima, for us this year and we are so stoked with how it turned out. Here’s a description from Ravenna:

“Brewed in collaboration with our friends at The Beer Junction to celebrate their 16th anniversary, this West Coast IPA is a celebration of our state’s bountiful hop farms over in Yakima. We loaded this beer with loads of Simcoe and a dash of Columbus Cryo in the kettle, then dry hopped with more Simcoe, Simcoe Cryo, Columbus Cryo, and a heavy dose of Citra Cryo Fresh – concentrated pellets derived from freshly harvested, whole-cone hops, and frozen for year-round flavor stability. The result is packed with notes of dank cannabis, grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, and resinous pine. Light bodied and crisp, with a lingering pithy bitterness.”

We’ve been here for 16 years and we can only keep doing what we love because of your continued, unending support. We love each and every one of you and are we are excited to celebrate another year on the block!
