Updated Sept. 29th to include upcoming event toward the top, past events below.

‘Tis the season! It truly has become the most wonderful time of the year for Washington beer lovers. Not only are tap lists beginning to fill up with fresh hop beers, but Oktoberfest celebrations also abound. Below is a wrap up of local Oktoberfest celebrations. If there’s something I missed, please leave a comment. (Image above: Fremont Oktoberfest.)

Rocktoberfest at Georgetown Brewing – Saturday, October 1st

Read more about it and get tickets here. “Pull out your Aquanet hairspray, apply your darkest guyliner, squeeze into your spandex (or Spanx, do whatever you gotta do, no judgment), throw your distressed 501 jeans on top and be ready to have your bangs blown back by some righteous, rockin’ music on an incredibly fun night! (Psych! Your bangs won’t even move on account of the aforementioned Aquanet)”

“ROCKTOBERFEST is On!!! Join us at Georgetown Brewery for a hair raising metalicious night of Def Zepplin, Led Lepard, AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Queen, Van Halen, Whitesnake & so many songs you don’t want to admit you want to hear, yet you sing Every. Single. Word. The Hosen Ones will serenade you with some heavy lederhosen music for a fun night of beer drinking, stein swinging, beer spilling, & metal singing! We will be joined by Seattle’s own NEW SENSATION, the best INXS tribute around. This band is tighter than Michael Hutchence’s leather pants circa 1987.”

“Our version of Oktoberfest is not to be missed. It is always a fun, fall evening with beer, brats, raffles and amazing one-of-a-kind music…”

  • Kölsch

The NEW Leavenworth Oktoberfest, in Leavenworth

Three weekends (September 30/Oct 1, October 7/8 or October 14/15). The original Leavenworth Oktoberfest, held for years in Leavenworth, grew to become something too big for the town so it’s moved on (see below). The NEW Leavenworth Oktoberfest continues the Bavarian tradition in a different format, one that focuses on beers from the town’s local breweries as well as the traditional German beers. This new event promises to be not quite as big and a bit more polite. The new Oktoberfest is being run by the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce.

The Original Leavenworth Oktoberfest, in Wenatchee

Three weekends (September 30/Oct 1, October 7/8 or October 14/15). “For three weekends in October, the Original Leavenworth Oktoberfest is being held in Wenatchee at the Toyota Town Center. Beer, brats and entertainment are to be expected, with entertainment for the younger set at the Kinderplatz (kids playground) with a bouncy house, plus plenty of kid-friendly activities. Shuttles will be available to take visitors back and forth between Wenatchee and Leavenworth.”
