Stoup Brewing just announced that it is the new brewery partner for both Ballard FC and Salmon Bay FC, Ballard’s semi-professional men’s and women’s soccer teams. The teams play their home matches at Interbay Stadium, which is where you’ll find Stoup Brewing’s beers in the beer garden.
The Stoup Brewing taproom in Ballard will host watch parties and other club events throughout the season. The first of those events will take place on January 28th from 6-8 pm. Fans are invited to a Coach Meet-and-Greet with head coaches Malia Arrant and Mutanda Kwesele.
To kick off the partnership, Stoup is teaming up with both clubs to release a custom pint glass. The first 20 fans to arrive at the Coach Meet-and-Greet event will a free pint glass. Thereafter, you’ll find the glasses available for sale at Stoup’s Ballard Taproom and the Team Store at Smål Market.
“As something that marries our belief in the power to build community through beer with their belief in building community through soccer, this partnership feels very natural,” said a statement from Stoup Brewing.
“And with two of our three owners being women, the inclusion of the FC Salmon Bay women’s team is especially meaningful. It goes beyond the sport and allows us to stand alongside women who lead and inspire. We anticipate having a ton of fun with this partnership this year and are proud to support soccer, women and allies building on something powerful together.”
“Stoup Brewing has been part of the fabric of Ballard for years, and we’re so excited to welcome them into the Ballard FC and Salmon Bay FC family,” said Sam Zisette, President and Co-Founder of the two clubs. “Their passion for craft and community mirrors our own, and we can’t wait for fans to enjoy Stoup beer while cheering on our community clubs.”
Lara Zahaba, one of Stoup Brewing’s co-founders, adds, “This partnership with both teams represents everything we believe in at Stoup – neighborhood pride, community connection, and genuine camaraderie. But, two of our three owners being women makes the inclusion of a women’s team especially meaningful. It goes beyond the sport and allows us to stand alongside women who lead and inspire. It goes without saying that we are proud to support women and allies building on something powerful together, right here in Ballard.”
