First of all, the closure of the satellite taproom does not impact the brewery’s main location across town in the historic brewery district. Sig Brewing opened its second location, a satellite taproom named Sig South, in July 2024. The company has now announced that it will close the Sig South taproom effective this Friday, August 29th.
The location on South Tacoma Way was previously the home of another brewery’s taproom. Auburn-based Scamp Brewing operated at the location for just 14 months before closing for reasons that were reported as personal. Sig South’s tenure at the location was equally short-lived.
This is the final week for Sig South and the brewery invites you to come say farewell this Wednesday through Friday and enjoy $5 beers. They’ll be open Wednesday and Thursday from 4 – 9 p.m. and again on Friday from 4 – 10 p.m. Also, on Friday they’ll host a barbeque, with donations for food gladly accepted.
Do not get confused. Sig South is located on South Tacoma Way. The brewery and taproom (killer pizza) is located on Tacoma Avenue South.
