SHE FLIES AND BACKWOODS BREWING LAUNCH PURPOSE-DRIVEN CRAFT BEER CELEBRATING WOMEN IN SPORTS
Portland, Ore. (June 2, 2025) – The Sport Oregon Foundation’s She Flies initiative and Backwoods Brewing Company are proud to announce the release of She Flies Hazy, a bold and vibrant new beer brewed to celebrate and support girls and women in sports across Oregon. Crafted in the Northwest with purpose and passion, She Flies Hazy Pale is more than a delicious pint. It’s a tribute to the athletes, coaches, and trailblazers who inspire us all.
Backwoods Brewing and its distribution partner, Columbia Distributing, have pledged $2.00 from every case sold (or the case equivalent for kegs) to benefit She Flies. Since 2022, the Sport Oregon Foundation and She Flies have awarded more than $340,000 in grants to Oregon-based nonprofits focused on keeping girls in the game, empowering women coaches, and promoting lifelong fitness for women.
She Flies Hazy is available at all three Backwoods Brewing locations, select retailers, and bars across the Northwest. With a blend of Simcoe, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops, the beer delivers bright citrus and fruit-forward notes with a perfectly balanced hop profile. 5.5% ABV | 34 IBU

In a further commitment to the mission, Backwoods Brewing is actively working to source ingredients from women-owned businesses. Specialty malts for She Flies are now being provided by Montana Craft Malt, a woman-owned maltster, with plans underway to source hops from a woman-owned hop farm—ideally right here in Oregon.
