Seattle’s Ladd & Lass Brewing announces opening date

Local beer lovers will recognize the location as the former home of Floating Bridge Brewing. Nick Ladd and Jessie Quan have taken over the space and will open Ladd & Lass Brewing later this month, with a grand opening event slated for January 1, 2022. A soft-opening period begins on December 22nd.

Located at 722 NE 45th Street in the University District, the taproom at Ladd & Lass Brewing will be dog- and kid-friendly. Nick and Jessie say they’ll offer a broad range of beers, from quaffable lagers to mixed-fermentation beers. Initially, the taproom will be open Wednesday through Sunday.

With deep homebrew roots, L&L is proud to celebrate the full spectrum of beer styles by always providing drinkers with a diverse taplist. Unapologetically geeky about fermentation, the taproom will offer sessionable lagers and hoppy libations to mixed-fermentation beers and everything in between.

“We are humbled and thrilled to be stepping into a space with an incredible history. Grateful for the community Russ Cornell and Dawn Perry of Floating Bridge Brewing forged, we hope to build on their craft beer legacy. Looking a bit further back, our taproom was once home to the storied Rainbow Tavern. And though 722 NE 45th Street is no longer a music venue, we hope to channel and carry on the creative energy, inclusivity, and good times,” said co-founders Nick Ladd and Jessie Quan.

In addition to being the newest neighborhood watering hole, the L&L taproom will also provide a bit of a stroll down memory lane for music fans. A collection of Rainbow Tavern ephemera (generously donated by Steve Hudziak, former co-owner of the Rainbow and music booking agent) will be on display for all to enjoy.
