A new twist on Chocolate Box beers. Presale Tuesday, February 1st.

This will be a popular release. Expected to sell out. Fans of Reuben’s Brews and fans of chocolate beers should be aware that the presale starts at the Reuben’s Brews online store tomorrow, February 1st, at noon. Hmmm, Valentine’s Day is approaching.

“We’ve taken this project up a little notch and this Valentine’s Day we’re producing a limited number of boxed tasting sets in collaboration with our good friends down the street at Theo Chocolate,” said an announcement from Reuben’s Brews.

Theo Chocolates is Seattle’s award-winning producer of organic, fair-trade chocolates. It is located across the street from Brouwer’s Cafe in Fremont, in the old trolly barn that was once home to Redhook Brewery. Theo Chocolates’ products are fabulous, revered, beloved, coveted, and deserving of just about every other superlative I can think of. Reuben’s beers are, of course, Reuben’s beers.

“Inside this custom packaging, we have 8-ounce bottles of all four 2022 Chocolate Box beers, two custom Sahm tasting glasses, and a limited-edition Theo Chocolate box featuring four custom chocolate confections that are produced with our Chocolate Box base beer which match the four 2022 beer flavors.”

This year, the four beers were all brewed with cocoa nibs from Theo Chocolates.

Baharat Ganache – First released in 2020, this Chocolate Box blend features Baharat spice and is an intriguing, inviting spiced stout.

Dark Chocolate & Tart Cherries – Featuring tart cherries and rich Theo cocoa nibs, this beer evokes indulgent dark chocolate with a balancing tartness from cherries.

Salted Caramel – The barrel-aged barleywine is infused with Theo nibs, vanilla beans, and has a pleasing savory salinity that balances the sweet caramel flavor of the base beer.

Coconut Macaroon Marshmallow – The best of all worlds: toasted coconut, cocoa nibs, and vanilla create a luscious beer to pair with the chocolate-and-coconut marshmallow in the Theo chocolate confection box.

The presale begins online on February 1st at noon. If you want in on this action, you have been warned.
