In addition to the larger Washington Beer Awards, which evaluates beers in dozens of categories and awards medals to the top performers, there is also a sub-competition that evaluates only fresh hop beers. Registration is open for the Washington Beer Awards Fresh Hop Beer and Cider competition.

Registration opens for the Washington Beer Awards Fresh Hop and Cider Competitions
The Washington Beer Awards is bringing back its special Fresh Hop Competition and is launching its Cider Competition this fall. These special competitions were launched to recognize Washington’s unique Fresh Hop beers and celebrate our vibrant cider producers. They are Washington-only competitions focusing on elevating Washington’s great professional breweries and cider makers through a blind-judging leveraging trained judges and industry professionals.
Registration for the competitions is open through Thursday, September 18th. Entries are due between September 26th and October 8th, with judging on October 12th. We’ll announce the winners of the Fresh Hop Competition shortly after, on October 16th. We will announce the winners of the Cider Competition on November 3rd at the Washington Craft Beer Summit, along with the rest of the regular Washington Beer Awards winners.
