Recluse Brew Works announces its Grand Opening

Last week we introduced Recluse Brew Works, a new brewery in Washougal, Washington. Now, on the heels of its soft opening last weekend, the company announces its official Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, December 2nd. You’ll find more info about that event below.

Recluse Brew Works (RBW) is a new brewery from Gus Everson, former Lead Brewer at Wayfinder Brewing in Portland. “The brand is a little bit of a contradiction,” said the company in an announcement. “Because even though it’s called ‘Recluse,’ we are out here building a watering hole to bring people together.”

The brewery and its taproom are located in a newly constructed industrial park in Washougal, just steps away from Captain William Clark Park, a popular swimming and hiking destination. Find the brewery and taproom at 4035 Grant St #102, Washougal, WA 98671.

The 15-barrel brewhouse will offer a variety of Everson’s beers, but lager-style beers will be the star of the show. “I do like introducing people to how versatile [lagers] can be,” Everson said. “…they can be dark, they can be light, they can be amber, they can be bitter, they can be malty. Just like pales and IPAs, they can be very versatile.”

The taproom, managed by Richard LaRue, will be open to all ages and will feature guest cider and wine options along with Recluse Brew Work’s beers. There is no kitchen, but visitors are welcome to bring their own taproom picnic. The brewery hopes to host a rotation of food trucks.
