The fun kicks off on Sunday, March 8th
Lately, I’ve noticed more and more breweries and beer-focused bars finding ways to attract crowds with new types of events. It’s increasingly important as consumer habits change and craft beer works to attract a wider, more diverse audience and build a broader sense of community. Beyond the good, old brewers night or beer release event, I’m seeing all sorts of fun stuff: trivia, music bingo, paint-and-sip, live music, and anything else that gives folks a reason to come out and enjoy a pint or two.
Case in point, Obec Brewing in Seattle has scheduled a series of Burlesque & Beer Cabaret events at its taproom in Ballard. The first event is on Sunday, March 8th. Get tickets here. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and the show starts at 7 pm (you’ll be home before 10). 21+ only. This first event, hosted by Moxie Blue, features Lady Drew Blood, The Blacksparrow, Amara Strutt, Mx. Pucks A’Plenty, Lavish the Jewel, and King Sherwood Ryder. Your host is Seattle’s favorite MILF, Moxie Blue.
Thereafter, the shows will take place on the first Sunday of the month, starting on April 5th. The Cabaret series is produced by Fat Bottom Productions. The brainchild of Moxie Blue, Fat Bottom Productions was founded to showcase diverse burlesque and drag talent. It has become a sought-after production company, known for showcasing BIPOC, non-traditional burlesque, drag kings and queens, and comedy, as well as the annual MILF show.
“We’re excited to bring our Beer & Burlesque shows back to Ballard,” said Moxie Blue, founder of Fat Bottom Productions. “We’ve missed the Ballard community and Obec is a great place to bring the community back together.”
