By the current standards, there’s a lot happening at Best of Hands Barrelhouse this weekend. It all starts tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 18) with a special beer release — an oak-aged sour ale. More details about the beer below.

On Saturday and Sunday, Best of Hands hosts a holiday craft sale with local creator Perch Paper/Goods, offering avian- and nature-inspired whimsical fabric, paper, and beaded goods.

On Sunday, they’ll also host NWTXBBQ, a purveyor of barbecued and smoked meats and eats. A local favorite in West Seattle.

When Best of Hands opens at 3:00 on Friday, 500-milliliter bottles of Mystic Queen go on sale. This oak-aged sour ale is finished on yarrow flowers and chamomile.

The brewery describes it like this: “Aromas of oak and vanilla envelope sweet-herbal yarrow on the nose with spiced apple and floral-honied notes from chamomile. Yarrow dominates the palate with herbal, sweeter ginger-like notes which meld with the autumnal spice qualities of the chamomile. Malt character akin to wildflower honey enters midway before some balancing oak astringency and acidity round out the subtly tart finish.”

In addition to Mystic Queen, barbecue, and gifts, Best of Hands will also be filling growlers and crowlers for your holiday festivities, such as they are this year.
