NW Peaks Brewery is happy to introduce the first Top of the Peaks Pro-Am Competition winner, Andrew Allport. His Extra Pale Ale was the first winner in what will become a series of pro-am beers. Andrew’s XPA is a beer that benefits Mary’s Place, an emergency shelter for homeless women, children and families.
To celebrate, NW Peaks is hosting a pair of release parties. One at the brewery and taproom in Hillman City on Wednesday, June 13th and the other at the NW Peaks Brewery taproom in Ballard on Tuesday, June 19th.
NW Peaks Brewery describes it this way, “Top of the Peaks is a regular series of homebrew competitions put on by NW Peaks in support of environmental and social causes (and great beer). This time, NW Peaks is partnering up with Mainstem Malt and the Washington Water Trust in support of environmentally sustainable brewing. Homebrewers must use sustainably farmed Mainstem Malt (accessible only at NW Peaks – Hillman City) to create a tasty brew that highlights the malt. The winning brewer will get the opportunity to brew their beer on our system alongside NW Peaks brewers!”
“To make sure that all brewers can brew their beers in time, we’ve extended the entry deadline to July 28th, which means there’s still plenty of time for homebrewers show us what they can do with the amazing (and SUSTAINABLY PRODUCED!) grains from Mainstem Malt!”
