Some weeks ago at the local watering hole, we ran into Brian Young, the decorated and revered Head Brewer at Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery in Bellevue. Brian informed us that he resigned his position with Rock Bottom and was moving on to pursue new challenges. For the unenlightened, Brian pumped out some truly excellent beers at Rock Bottom. We have no word yet on his next career move, but we just learned who Rock Bottom found to replace Brian: Sara Luchi, formerly of Silver City Brewery.
Congratulations to Sara Luchi. According to Silver City’s weekly newsletter, Sara will now be the Head Brewer at Rock Bottom Bellevue. Yesterday was Sara’s last day with Silver City Brewery, where she had worked since 2009 as a brewer and the cellar lead. Her career with Silver City actually began in 2007 when she worked as a host at the restaurant. In the newsletter, Silver City described the situation as “bittersweet.” They are sad to see her go, but proud of her and wish her nothing but success.
