Fresh hop beers. Wet hop beers. Whatever you call them, they are a fleeting breed. Like the hop harvest itself, they come around once a year and are quickly gone. Go get some now, before we transition into pumpkin beers and then winter beers.
We just learned about the inaugural Hop Harvest Beer Days festival in Vancouver, WA (October 10 and 11). This festival celebrates the season, showcasing beers made with fresh hops from more than 20 breweries. BTW: If you want to learn about fresh hop beers, wet hop beers, the differences and the similarities, check out the story I wrote on this subject last year: Fresh Hop, Wet Hop, What’s the Difference.

The Hop Harvest Beer Days festival is a two day craft beer specialty event that will feature seasonal beers made with fresh hops. The festival will offer a collection of both local and regional breweries giving you the opportunity to sample the top 30 fresh hop and harvest beers of Washington and Oregon. In addition to the many craft beers, there will also be many delicious food vendors and live music from cool local artists. The beer garden, entertainment, and food areas will have tent covers and will be running rain or shine.

Residents or visitors of Vancouver, Portland, and nearby areas should come show their support of local breweries and businesses by attending the Hop Harvest Beer Days festival on October 10 & 11. The festival is a benefit for the Metropolitan Performing Arts Academy. They are a local performing arts education centre for children and adults.
The Hop Harvest Beer Days is a festival that features seasonal beers that are only brewed once a year when the hops are picked fresh from the fields.
