Chainline Brewing of Kirkland, Washington teamed up with Breakside Brewery of Portland, Oregon to create a collaboration beer: Lupuline Bloom.
“We ended up brewing a 7 percent ABV hazy IPA featuring HBC 472 Incognito oil as well as Eldorado Lupomax, Riwaka, and Strata,” said Brandon Huff, Head Brewer at Chainline Brewing.
Some of those hop names may sound unfamiliar to beer drinkers. LUPOMAX and INCOGNITO are fairly new hop products. Designed by HAAS® and BarthHaas, LUPOMAX® and INCOGNITO® are all-natural hop products created to help brewers get the most bang out of their hop buck. LUPOMAX is a concentrated pellet. INCOGNITO is a pourable liquid concentrate. Each product is available for different hop varieties.
“It is very juicy with lots of New Zealand hop character coming through,” said Brandon. “The collaboration was with Breakside and the beer was brewed at both Breakside’s Slabtown facility as well as our brewery in Kirkland.”
“I previously brewed at Breakside so it was a bit of a reunion collaboration,” explained Brandon. “The batch we brewed here in Kirkland will be released on draft and in 16-oz cans next week (week of 4/18). The batch that was brewed at Breakside will be available on draft likely the week of 5/9.”
