Among the beers Lucky Envelope Brewing releases on August 19th at its Summer Soiree, one is a French Pilsner. What’s that? Allow me to explain.

Alsace is a region in eastern France. Champagne is a region in northeastern France. Make a lager using Saphir hops from Alsace and Pilsen malt from Champagne and you’ve got a French Pilsner. That’s just one of the four beers Seattle’s Lucky Envelope Brewing will release on Saturday, August 19th at the brewery’s taproom in Ballard. They’re calling it a Summer Soiree and the four beers span the gamut, from stout to lager to sour.

Summer Soiree: August 19, 2023 – All Day (Noon-10PM)
Food Truck: TBD
Beer Releases: all available on draft and in cans

Pumpkin Emoji Cream Stout (6.0% ABV)
The Pumpkin Emoji Cream Stout is how we imagine fall would taste if it were squeezed into a glass. Real pumpkin puree and a mix of pie spices blend deliciously with the stout’s flavors of cocoa and roasty coffee. Lactose and flaked oats balance out bold dark malts creating a creamy smoothness not unlike a “PSL”—perfectly spiced latte.

Vienna Lager (5.1% ABV)
Our Vienna-style Lager pays respect to the 19th century Austrian beer which made its way to the US via a fascinating trip through Central America. Pouring a gorgeous amber-red, this highly drinkable lager greets you with notes of lightly sweet malt and toasted bread, finishing with a clean bitterness. Most recently, the Vienna Lager was awarded a gold medal at the 2020 Best of Craft Beer Awards.

French Pilsner (5.1% ABV)
We’re excited to share our bière légère brewed with pilsen barley sourced from the Champagne-region of France and dry hopped with Saphir and Alsatian-grown Barbe Rouge. Expect a crisp, clean lager with notes of red ripe fruit, lemon, and wildflower honey.
