We are all horrified by the situation in Maui. For Randy Embremante, the devastation in Hawaii is personal. “As someone who was born and raised in Hawaii this one hits home, says Hellbent Brewing owner, Randy Embernate. “I grew up on the Big Island, Kona side. I went to Boy Scout camp, bartended, and played A LOT of tennis on Maui; I’ve worked with many people who call Maui home. “

“Witnessing the destruction from the past few days makes all of those memories come rushing back; the heartbreak, devastation, and hopelessness make my heart hurt. Prayers, Love and Aloha goes out to all the people of Maui.”

On Wednesday, August 16th, Hellbent Brewing hosts Kokua Maui, or Help Maui. The fundraiser takes place at both Hellbent locations, the brewery and taproom in Seattle as well as The Taproom in Wenatchee.

At the Seattle location, on Lake City Way, they’ll donate $1 from any pint sold. They also donate $3 for each Dog Parade IPA sold, $3 for any to-go orders, and 50 percent of growler sales of Dog Parade IPA. Donations going to the Maui Humane Society.
