It starts out as a bourbon barrel stout, then Reuben’s Brews transfers the beer to other barrels that previously contained orange liqueur. Finally, they add cocoa nibs and vanilla beans. The result is the first beer in this year’s Chocolate Box series of beers: Orange Liqueur Truffle.
It is on sale now at the Reuben’s Brews online store. Pick it up starting this Friday, Feb. 12th at the brewery’s location in Ballard. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday a flower vendor will be onsite to help complete your Valentine’s shopping spree.
Here is the complete release announcement with more details about all of this.
CHOCOLATE BOX PRESALE
ORANGE LIQUEUR TRUFFLE ON SALE NOW (Feb. 8, 2021) – Just in time for Valentine’s Day we are releasing the first Chocolate Box beer of 2021, part of our ongoing series of barrel-aged stouts with single-origin cocoa nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans. Presales begin today at noon on our online store only, for pickup at our To-Go Store and Taproom beginning this Friday at noon. Read complete details below.
We will also have our friend and flower vendor Vikki returning to the Taproom this FRIDAY, SATURDAY, and SUNDAY with special holiday bouquets of flowers.
First up in this year’s Chocolate Box is Orange Liqueur Truffle. We start with a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout that is racked in to fresh barrels most recently containing world-famous orange liqueur, before conditioning on Ecuadorian single-origin cocoa nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans. This chocolate-orange delight evokes the holiday orange-chocolate of your youth while adding richness from the bourbon barrels and vanilla.
Presale details: preorder your bottles (limit: 6 bottles per person) beginning today at our online store for pickup in Ballard at ReubensBrews.com/Shop. Please note: your entire order will not be ready for pickup until Friday, so we recommend not including other beers or merch that you want to pick up before then (please place another order for those items, and they’ll be ready for pickup immediately.)
