Seattle’s Lucky Envelope Brewing has earned a reputation for creating culturally inspired beers of distinct character. It’s all about introducing unexpected flavors into familiar beer styles. For example, a Helles Lager infused with smoked tea, or a Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter brewed with pandan leaves. Those are just two of the beers Lucky Envelope Brewing releases at the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.

MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL BEER RELEASES
Beer: Piña Colada Lemongrass Sour collaboration with Loaded Question Brewing (5.6% ABV).
Availability: Draft only (growler fills okay).
Description: In an ode to the end of summer, we loaded our house golden sour with freshly toasted coconut, pineapple, and lemongrass for complexity. This idea was drummed up in collaboration with our friends at Loaded Question Brewing out of Portsmouth, NH.
Beer: Pumpkin Emoji Cream Stout (6.0% ABV).
Availability: Draft and 4-pack Cans ($18).
Description: The Pumpkin Emoji Cream Stout is everything you’d expect from a fall cream stout. The hip younger sister of our Erma Gourd Pumpkin Porter, this beer has cocoa and light, roasty coffee flavors which blend deliciously with real pumpkin puree and a mix of pie spices. Lactose and flaked oats balance out bold dark malts creating a creamy smoothness not unlike a “PSL”—perfectly spiced latte.
Beer: Smoked Tea Helles (5.0% ABV).
Availability: Draft and 4-pack Cans ($18).
Description: Our Munich-style Helles Lager is infused with Chinese smoked black tea. The biscuit and grain notes of the base beer are complemented by a complex smoke character and a brisk but sweet malty nuttiness from the black tea. Most recently, this beer received a silver medal at the 2021 WA Beer Awards.
Beer: Pandan Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter (12% ABV).
Availability: Limited draft only (no growler fills).
Description: Pandan leaves are brewed into our whiskey barrel-aged Imperial Porter, adding hints of rose, almond, and vanilla. Pandan leaves are commonly used throughout Southeast Asia as a flavoring for drinks and desserts.
