Inland Brewers Unite (IBU) is a Spokane-based homebrewers club. Today, the IBU shared information about the inaugural Inland Northwest Homebrewers Festival. The event brings together homebrewers from across the region to celebrate the craft of brewing. The event takes place at Farragut State Park in Idaho on September 19th through 21st. Below, I share the announcement as provided by the IBU.

Even if homebrewing is reportedly in decline, that’s not stopping Inland Brewers Unite (IBU), the homebrew club of Spokane, WA, from launching the inaugural Inland Northwest Homebrewers Festival this September 19–21 at Farragut State Park in Idaho. The festival aims to bring together members of homebrew clubs in the Inland Northwest (eastern Washington, northern Idaho, western Montana, and northeastern Oregon) for a weekend of camping and celebrating the craft of homebrewing.

Styled after the popular homebrewers festivals of California, this festival is specifically for homebrew club members (or individuals who can identify with their local club). Attendees are expected to bring at least one batch of a homebrewed fermentation creation to share. There will be a Friday evening social to break the ice, but the bulk of the festival activities will happen on Saturday. Each club is encouraged to set up a booth to dispense their members’ beers. There will be peer judging of these brews. Booths can be decorated to the theme chosen for the festival. This year’s theme is that elusive Inland Northwest resident himself: Sasquatch. Each club can also submit a separate beer (of the specific beer style chosen for the festival) for the festival keg competition. This year’s festival keg competition style is: Cascadian Dark Ale.

The festival will take place at Farragut State Park located in northern Idaho at the southern tip of Lake Pend Oreille in the Coeur d’Alene Mountains. The park is about 30 miles north of the city of Coeur d’Alene.

This festival is more than just a beer share—it’s a gathering of passionate brewers from across the Inland Northwest, including eastern Washington, northern Idaho, western Montana, and northeastern Oregon. Find more info, see which clubs are already signed up to attend, or sign up to attend yourself at the festival’s website: inwhf.org.
