July 16 – Update to the original story.

We have now learned that in addition to 4 Stitch Brewing taking over Good Brewing’s Woodinville location, as originally reported, Wheelie Pop Brewing is taking over Good Brewing’s Mill Creek location. For those unfamiliar, Wheelie Pop Brewing is located in Ballard, in the heart of the brewery district. The brewery serves up its tasty beers in a motorcycle-themed taproom at the brewery. More specifically, motorcycle racing is the theme.

I am told that Wheelie Pop’s moto racing theme will extend to the Mill Creek location. I am also told, “Likely opening mid-August after we do a refresh. We’ll eventually look to add a kitchen and a side deck but that won’t be until the first part of next year.”

That headline tells just one part of the story. Good Brewing Company has sold two of its locations. There’s a lot to unpack here, so stick with me. Good Brewing operates three brewery taprooms. This news does not impact the location in Sultan, Washington. It involves only the Woodinville and Bothell/Mill Creek locations, which have been sold and are going to “Good hands.”

Kevin King, owner of Good Brewing, posted a statement on social media the other day. “The last 3 years we have seen tremendous growth with great opportunities. Unfortunately, due to some personal matters, we have found ourselves in a position to reorganize and scale back down. We have sold Good Brewing Barrelhouse and Good Brewing Woodinville.”

4 Stitch Brewing will take over the Good Brewing location in Woodinville. Currently, 4 Stitch is located in Mill Creek about 8 miles north of their soon-to-be location in Woodinville. No word yet on what this means for the current 4 Stitch location, probably nothing, but we’ll find out soon. In Woodinville, the transition from Good Brewing to 4 Stitch Brewing begins on July 22nd, which means the last day for Good Brewing Woodinville is July 21st.

The Good Brewing Barrelhouse, located in north Bothell l along the Bothell-Everett Highway, has also been sold. The last day for that location is slated for July 14th. No word yet on who is taking over that location, though Kevin did say both locations “are going to good hands.”

“We are not done but we do have great opportunities in the future,” Kevin posted. “You will find Good Brewing beer at Ales and Tails and the GB mug club will continue at that location.”

Ales and Tales is the indoor dog park and beer bar next door to the Good Brewing Woodinville brewpub (soon to be 4 Stitch Brewing). It is in the same building and shares a wall, so to say that the two businesses are closely tied is not a stretch.

None of this impacts Good Brewing’s location in Sultan. “GB Sultan will continue to thrive and we are currently upgrading the kitchen and front of house needs. It was a hard decision but without everyone’s love and support it would have been harder. Hope to see you these next two weeks, then at Ales and Tails and GB Sultan. Thank you for always being supportive.”
