The Growler Guys in Seattle is in the midst of the annual fresh hop Freshtival, a month-long-plus celebration of fresh hop beers. The event sees as many fresh hop beers in one place as anyone can imagine. They source as many as they can find, and these days that’s a lot of fresh hop beer. Upwards of 20-ish fresh hop beers on tap at a time, rotating for a month or more. A lot of fresh hop beer.
On Thursday, October 13th the whole thing comes to a head with the 2022 Washington Beer Awards, Fresh Hop Award Ceremony. The public is welcome to attend the event, sample a whole bunch of beer, and learn which breweries win awards firsthand. Here’s the announcement from The Growler Guys:
Thursday, the 13th of October, 6-11pm, you are invited to the “2022 Washington Beer Awards — Fresh Hop Award Ceremony”, being hosted by The Growler Guys, Seattle at our annual, month-long, fresh hop “FRESHTIVAL 2022”. We suggest getting here early to sample 20+ fresh hop beers on tap (more in cans) with avid followers and luminaries of the WA craft beer scene. Open to the public and press.
6-7pm join the industry “Freshie PRE-FUNK” (two prominent local brewers talk on stage about their company’s approach to brewing F/H) and try blind tasting at the “You Judge It” table.
