In these disjointed and overturned times, anything that reminds us of normal life is welcome. This year’s release of Summer American Pale Ale from Fremont Brewing is a sure sign that there actually will be a summer this year and at least one thing remains normal. But wait, even the beer is a bit different this year, though not in a bad way.
The new, slightly tweaked recipe includes Citra cryo hops, a scientific marvel of the modern world that has done nothing but improve the beers we drink. (Can you tell I’m a big fan of Citra cryo?) Reportedly the beer is even more refreshing and bright because of it.
Here’s the release info from the brewery.
SEASONAL RELEASE: Summer American Pale Ale
Refreshed recipe and design & virtual release party
Seattle, WA May 6, 2020: Summer is back! Bursting with citrus and melon flavors, Summer American Pale Ale is imminently drinkable and the perfect accompaniment for any summer day. New for 2020, Summer Ale is more refreshing and brighter than ever, with the addition of Citra cryo hops alongside brewer-selected Amarillo hops.
Look for Summer in its new, freshened up packaging in 12 oz. cans (6 packs and 12 packs), 22 oz bottles and on tap starting in early May.
To celebrate the return of Summer, Fremont Brewing is throwing a virtual release party. Chong the Nomad will DJ a live set on Saturday, May 9 from 4-6 PM Seattle time live on Fremont’s Instagram (@fremontbrewing). While nothing can replace a sunny release party in the Urban Beer Garden, we’re still bringing the party to you while social distancing. Let’s Summer!
