Back when Best of Hand Barrelhouse first opened, about two years ago, I tasted their first beers with a bit of a sympathetic tongue. I never want to judge a brewery too harshly on their first batches of beer. Thing is, all the beers were good. Polished. Among the early beers from BOH, one that stood out to me, in particular, was the Baltic Porter.

Since that time, Best of Hands Barrelhouse has released a lot of great beers. This latest round of release announcements includes the Baltic Tiger, which I’m pretty excited about.

Here’s the release info for all four beers:

Today we are excited to announce the release of FOUR new beers in 16oz cans!

A MANSION HAS MANY ROOMS is a low gravity ale brewed in collaboration with The Beer Junction. It is a 2.5% ABV pale ale featuring the Australasian hops Riwaka & Kohatu for aromas of kiwi, melon, and grass. Brewed with flaked oats and vanilla to give some texture to such a low gravity beer. Flavors of kiwi, bright citrus fruits, and light tropical notes on a lean body dissolve into pungent woody characteristics and grapefruit on the crisp dry finish. This beer is only available at Best of Hands and The Beer Junction, so come visit us in beautiful West Seattle to get yours!

In addition to the collab, we are releasing:

BALTIC TIGER- an 8% ABV lagered porter incorporating cold steeped roasted grains for maximum aroma and flavor extraction, and modern Cashmere hops. Scents of dark chocolate covered figs and stone fruit on the nose. The palate follows, with notes of molasses, baking spices, and wood-like tannins. Hints of espresso and alcohol warmth on the decadent finish.

UNFINISHED LIVES- a 7.5% ABV rye IPA featuring Centennial and Citra hops. Floral notes of orange blossom on the nose with fresh squeezed citrus fruits and pungent woodiness beneath. Grainy-spicy rye character counterpoints the juicy grapefruit and sharp pine flavors on the crisp, dry palate. Some tropical hop dankness emerges midway before the long, resinous, pine-tar-bitter finish.

WORDLESS CHORUS- a 6.5% ABV NEIPA featuring Citra, Mosaic, and Amarillo hops, this beer displays tropical aromas of papaya and guava. Flaked oats, and wheat make for a pillowy smooth body loaded with juicy notes of guava and some cannabis-like dankness. Semi sweet cereal grain enters mid palate with a hint of vanilla. Resin and pine help to dry out the bitter-sweet finish.
