Guest breweries, a special collab beer, and loads of light beers

This time of year, as we flirt with the solstice, there’s a lot of light around Seattle. Damned near 16 hours between sunrise and sunset each day. And there’s also a lot of light beer being brewed by our fantastic local breweries. Seattle’s Flying Lion Brewing celebrates the abundance of daylight with its second annual Light Beer Fest. This year’s three-day event takes place June 27th through 29th.

“During the lightest time of the year comes a celebration of the lightest of beers,” says Dylan Alrich of Flying Lion Brewing. “On the heels of our 10th Annual Dark Beer Fest, we decided to balance the cosmic scales by bringing you three days of all light beer as we mark the beginning of summer.”

Each day, expect an entirely different lineup of beers from Flying Lion and guest breweries, including Bizarre Brewing, Machine House Brewery, Seapine Brewing, The Good Society Brewery, Bellevue Brewing, and Four Generals Brewing. All of the beers are on the lighter side: Witbier, Pale Ale, Kölsch, Pilsner, Saison, and more! No tickets or reservations required. Seating is first-come, first-served.

One of those beers is a special collaboration project involving Flying Lion Brewing and Formula Brewing. This year’s light beer collab is called Italo Disco, an Italian Pilsner described as “Bright Mediterranean garden aromas from the late dry-hop fade into a crisp, light cracker finish.”

  • Early Open and Soft Pretzels! – Start the adventure early at 10am and enjoy FREE soft pretzel knots from Columbia City Bakery while supplies last.
  • Follow the Facebook Event Page for each day’s beer lineup and special announcements.
  • Flying Lion Brewing also brewed its CassavaNova lager again this year. Brewed with real Cassava. Originally brewed in collaboration with Lowercase Brewing for our 1st Light Beer Fest in 2024.
  • They’ll also have Light Beer Fest exclusive T-shirts available.
