Saturday afternoon we decided to grab some low-hanging fruit. That is, we decided to hit a couple of new breweries that are not too far from home. One of these breweries is very new, the other qualifies as kinda new.
Seapine Brewing has been open for some time, but this was our first visit. It is a cozy tasting room decorated with antique objects, which seems much bigger inside than you expect from the street. As of right now, the taproom is open on Friday 3:00 – 6:00 and Saturday noon – 4:00. They will be extending their open hours before too long. Also, we understand they’ll soon expand their beer offerings – more beers on tap. You’ll find Seapine Brewing on 4th Avenue South in Seattle, very near Costco, across the street from Seattle City Light. Look for the red awning.
We also stopped by Burdick Brewery in South Park, which is indeed quite new. This bare-bones tasting room is still coming together but at least it is open. Like Seapine, the quality of the beer at Burdick Brewery impressed us. Perhaps the biggest news here is that there are two more breweries opening soon in the South Park neighborhood. One will be right next door to Burdick Brewery and the other will be just a few blocks away. Burdick Brewery is located in the middle of the South Park neighborhood, near the South Park play field and community center, look for the big rock sculptures out front.
Burdick Brewery’s tasting room is open Wednesday through Friday 3:00 ’til Close, Saturday and Sunday noon ’til close. You’ll have to contact the brewery to find out exactly what is considered closing time. Find them on Facebook.
