Figurehead Brewing Hits Double Digits and Has Big Plans for the Occasion

Saturday, September 5th – A full day of fun stuff, plus two chances to win a 10-year, vertical bottle stash

Ten years is a big one. When a brewery reaches that mark, it becomes comfortable in its own skin. Its personality is fully formed, like a teenager entering adulthood, and it moves forward with greater self-confidence. Figurehead Brewing is marking the 10-year milestone in style. On September 5th, the Seattle brewery celebrates its anniversary with a full day of events, and if you’ve got any love for Figurehead’s beer, circle it on your calendar.

At the Figurehead Magnolia Taproom, things kick off at noon with door prizes for the first ten people through the door, brewery tours throughout the day, and the release of this year’s anniversary beer, 10th Leg. It’s a beer created with the self-confidence of a fully adult brewery, an imperial saison brewed with Sauvignon Blanc juice and orange peel. The recipe has a genuinely fun origin story.

“This beer was inspired during my recent trip to Bermuda, where we ate loquat berries right off the tree,” said owner and head brewer Bob Monroe.

Live music takes over the beer garden from 3 to 7 p.m., and food will be going all day. Alongside Figurehead’s usual brats and pretzels, Soft Launch — a soft serve and affogato truck — will be parked on site from 2 to 8 p.m., and Midnite Ramen rolls in from 5 to 8 p.m.

The raffle you actually want to win

Here’s the part that’s going to get serious beer nerds in the door: Figurehead has spent the last decade quietly cellaring every single one of its past anniversary beers, and at this party, two lucky winners will walk away with the complete set.

We’re talking a full 10-year vertical — one bottle of every anniversary beer going all the way back to 1st Leg in 2017. Twelve bottles total, including two variants of 4th Leg and a bottle of the brand-new 10th Leg. It’s the kind of collection most of us would never assemble on our own, and Figurehead is just giving it away. Twice.

There will be two separate raffle drawings: one at 3 p.m. (open to anyone who arrives between noon and 3 p.m.) and a second at 6 p.m. So there are two real windows of opportunity here, depending on when you can make it out.

“We’re super thankful to all of our customers that have supported us in reaching this milestone,” said Bob, “and we hope to celebrate with everyone on the 5th!”
