Double Mountain Brewery of Hood River, Oregon just announced the release of its latest seasonal beer, a collaboration IPA, Velvet Wallpaper IPA. Brewed in collaboration with Van Henion Brewing of Bend, OR. I had one the other day. Deliciously dry. Bright and dank at the same time. Recommend.

We are thrilled to announce our latest seasonal brew, Velvet Wallpaper West Coast IPA. This exceptional beer is a collaboration with Van Henion Brewing, a brewery we deeply respect. Despite being a relatively new establishment that opened in 2021, Van Henion has already made a name for itself with outstanding IPAs and lagers. If you find yourself in Bend, their brewery is a must-see!

Velvet Wallpaper West Coast IPA embodies the elegance and craftsmanship we both strive for. We crafted a classic West Coast IPA using some of our favorite Pacific Northwest hops. Modern hopping techniques bring out citrus aromas, complemented by pine and evergreen for a well-balanced finish. This IPA is dry, crisp, and bright, with an ABV of 6.3%, making it a perfect summer patio pounder.

The name “Velvet Wallpaper” was inspired by a serendipitous moment when our owner, Matt Swihart, walked into Van Henion’s brewery and discovered the same timeless, classy velvet wallpaper pattern found in our Hood River pub, albeit in a different color. This shared aesthetic connection highlights the timeless elegance we aim to capture in every sip of this beer.
