Chuckanut Brewery celebrates the arrival of tulip season with beer

A pint of beer against a colorful background

Every year, Chuckanut Brewery releases a beer to celebrate the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Spring is in the air, and the tulips are getting ready to bloom. This year’s Skagit Tulip Ale arrives on March 26th, with the official tapping at Chuckanut Brewery’s taproom at the Port of Skagit in Burlington, WA.

For this year’s beer, Chuckanut Brewery teamed up with one of its neighbors, Terramar Brewing and Distilling, which is also located in the Skagit Valley. The beer is described as refreshing, with bright citrus and floral notes, and a subtle piney finish.

At the official tapping on March 26th, brewers from both breweries will be available to answer questions and discuss the making of this year’s Skagit Tulip Ale. In a release announcement, Chuckanut Brewery said, “Skagit Tulip Ale uses locally sourced ingredients from Skagit Valley Malting and Linc Malt as well as WA state hops Chinook and HB1134. This crisp and clean finishing ale is a great companion to fish tacos or a bright spring salad. Available on draft in WA state and in cans at your favorite bottle shops and grocery stores.”

Chuckanut Brewery brews award-winning Lagers and Ales and has won Large Brewery of the Year at the Washington Beer Awards in 2017, 2019, and 2021, and Small Brewery at the Great American Beer Festival in 2009 and 2011. The brewery’s production facility and taproom are in Skagit Valley at 11937 Higgins Airport Way, Burlington, WA. Chuckanut welcomes guests of all ages and has indoor and outdoor seating!
