Julia Davis Departs; Chaz Lakip Joins as New Head Brewer
Seattle, WA — 7/2/2025 — Burke-Gilman Brewing Company announces that Head Brewer Julia Davis is stepping down as she prepares to relocate out of state for new personal and professional adventures.
Julia has been a vital part of the Burke-Gilman team, helping shape the brewery’s identity through bold innovation and technical excellence. During her tenure, Burke-Gilman earned multiple accolades and continued its reputation as one of the Northwest’s most decorated breweries.
“Julia’s creativity, dedication, and palate have left a lasting mark on every tank in our brewhouse,” said Co-founder Kenneth Trease. “While we’re sad to see her go, we’re incredibly grateful for everything she’s contributed and excited to see what she accomplishes next.”
At the same time, Burke-Gilman Brewing is proud to welcome Chaz Lakip as its new Head Brewer. Chaz has been brewing professionally since 2012 and brings a wealth of experience and a deep respect for traditional techniques. He joins Burke-Gilman most recently from Chuckanut Brewery in Bellingham—one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected lager-focused breweries.
“We’re thrilled to have Chaz on board,” said Kenneth. “His background and approach align beautifully with our vision. We’re confident he’ll help carry our beers—and our team—into the next chapter.”
