Black Raven Brewing partners with KISW radio to create the new, official Mens Room beer.
Back in 2010, Elysian Brewing started producing a beer in partnership with KISW radio’s Mens Room, the Seattle-based radio station’s long-running afternoon/drivetime show. The beer saw wide distribution regionally and benefited Fisher House, a local organization that supports veterans. Black Raven Brewing just announced that it is picking up the mantle and is now the producer of the new Mens Room beer. The beer is different, but the mission is the same: raise funds and support Friends of Fisher House Puget Sound.
In its former life, the Mens Room beer was an amber/red ale. The new version is a low-ABV IPA. Black Raven Brewing will offer it in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and also on draft. “We’re Beyond excited to announce our new partnership with The Mens Room Radio Show on KISW!” said a statement from Black Raven Brewing. “Releasing today (March 1st) in the taprooms and hitting shelves and your favorite watering holes shortly.”
The Mens Room IPA is described as a new approach to a classic style. It features Idaho 7 and Bravo hops, which pack a punch of tropical-citrus flavors, like mango, pineapple, tangerine, and juicy fruit. 5.8% ABV, 55 IBU. “With its modest ABV and tempered bitterness profile, this baby is ready to rock!”
The guys who host the radio show had this to say: “HOLA! We’re the Mens Room from 99.9 KISW in Seattle, and we like to drink Beer. We also like our veterans. A portion of all the proceeds from this beer go to the local Fisher Houses, a wonderful charity that supports veterans and their families. So raise a glass and be proud of the donation you’ve just made to charity. Down the Hole-a!”
