Big Block Brewing celebrating its 10th year on July 8th

Commemorating an eventful first decade at Big Block Brewing

A decade ago, John and Michele Julum did something a bit crazy. They opened a brewery in the garage of their home in Sammamish, Washington. Big Block Brewing was not a big operation, crafting its beer on a small system (two-barrel). The Julums sold the beer out of the garage during limited operating hours.

A couple years later, Big Block Brewing opened a proper taproom in a retail space along East Lake Sammamish Parkway. Then a couple years after that, it opened a new, larger brewery and taproom in Redmond, taking over the space once occupied by Hi-Fi Brewing. A couple months ago, Big Block Brewing opened its taproom in Carnation, Washington. Now the brewery has three locations: the brewery and taproom in Redmond, the taproom in Sammamish, and the taproom in Carnation.

So yeah, it’s been an eventful first decade for Big Block Brewing. You are invited to help the Julums celebrate the first ten years. Join them at the Redmond location on Saturday, July 8th. Here’s the announcement from social media.

In 2013 we opened our home and garage to the public. Sharing our love for beer has reach further than ever. Never would we have thought it would grow into three locations and one big beer drinking family.
