No-Li Brewhouse announces the upcoming release of Slacker, a beer brewed with orange peel and vanilla beans. Slacker is the little brother of Brass Monkey, which we told you about in a previous post. Here’s the release notice from the brewery:
Spokane, WA… Brass Monkey has undeniably brought fun to the masses. But, let’s be honest, with a solid 8% ABV, that funky monkey can sneak up on you. Enter stage right; Brass Monkey’s laid back baby brother, Slacker!
This chimp off the ol’ block doesn’t care much to keep up with his big bro, but he has definitely taken on some of Brass Monkey’s best qualities. Delivering a smooth foundation from wheat, acidulated and caramel malts, in addition to the sweet orange peel tossed in during boil, this brew lets the juicy orange flavor and aroma shine. The strong citrus character, reinforced by Comet and Cascade hops, only confirms that the delicious orange does not fall too far from the tree!
“We wanted this beer to be completely different from anything else we’ve done in a six-pack,” says No-Li’s Head Brewer, Carey Fristoe. “The real kicker in this one is the addition of Madagascar Vanilla Beans post fermentation, which gives the beer a creamy, slightly sweet, vanilla taste that melds seamlessly with the orange peel.”
This dreamsicle-esque brew will offer a delightful 6.1% ABV and 20 IBUs.
Keep an eye out, because Slacker Brass Ale six-packs will be ready to kick it with the crowds on October 6th.
